Introduction

Members of the University community have access to a range of centrally provided IT services through a standard University Identifier (UniID) and password. A UniID is a unique number allocated to employees and students (u9712345), affiliates (a123456)] and functional accounts (f1234).

OLAMS is a web based system which enables registered Local IT Support Staff (LITSS) to create and maintain email, unix and web publishing accounts including changing maildrops, resetting passwords, setting vacation mail and suspending accounts of employees, postgraduate students and affiliates of the University.

LITSS are the key group providing IT support to members of the ANU community. They are supported by central IT Service Providers and an IT Sponsor for each area.

LITSS are the first point of contact for staff members who need IT support. Each area (school, faculty, division) is responsible for ensuring that adequate IT support is provided. LITSS should have the appropriate skills and training to meet the current and future needs of their local community. They should have relevant experience and/or formal IT qualifications.
